Hi. I'm looking to get more memory for my MacBook Pro because it seems I have run out. I have used 3.99GB out of the 4.0GB it came with. I have a 2009, 13 in Macbook Pro with a 2.53 processor. I have done research on these boards as well as on google, and apple's website and can't seem to find a straight answer. When I clicked the option to purchase more memory from Apple, it says none is available for my model (or something along those lines). Yesterday I bought a 4TB external hard drive because I thought if I cleared out my hard drive I would have more space. I cleared it out for the most part but, since I just got it yesterday, it is a work in progess. Honestly, the reason I am asking is because I play The Sims 3 and it keeps freezing while trying to save. I have been told it's because I have run out of memory. Can someone please tell me the answer to the following questions:
1. How can I delete memory, if it is possible.
2. If I can't delete it, how can I add memory to my Macbook Pro?
Watch my latest video: the channel by downloading the best browser on the market (8 times faster than Goo. Empty the Trash. To start with, your Trash could be full of things that need deleting permanently. A mac running on macOS Sierra and later can automatically store rarely-used files to the cloud so you'll get more physical storage space on your device. Some of the storage-saving actions are automatically done in the background while others need your manual intervention.
